A friend of mine wrote some comments that several of his friends appreciated. I asked him if I could post those in my blog, and he has agreed to that. So, the following was written by Justin Maust (minus minor changes).
Here are some things to help you grab hold of everything you were designed to be and do in 2016:
1. Have no more than 3 Major Goals to focus on this year. Anything more and you will lose focus, become overwhelmed and achieve less than desirable results. Make sure these three Goals will rock your world. Make sure they are very specific. For Example: Not…Pay off debt…..use this instead: Pay off $42,500 of vehicle and credit card debt…..Be in the best shape of my life by losing 37 lbs. Etc.
2. Get a clear picture of what kind of person you must become in order to achieve the goals you set for yourself. You must change your actions, behaviors, attitudes, thinking and habits if you want to experience success at the next level. Determine the primary attitude you must adopt. Determine 2-3 habits or actions that must stop. Determine 2-3 actions and habits that you must start and keep daily to succeed. Write all of this down on paper. Give yourself a visual EVERYDAY of what your commitments are.
3. Review and track your results DAILY and WEEKLY. Holding yourself accountable is critical……but having an accountability partner is very helpful. You have to look at your results EVERY DAY and EVERY WEEK to maintain the focus and to begin building the right habits. Overtime, success will be yours.
